Virtual APPE grand rounds: A learning activity to enhance remote rotations during the COVID-19 pandemic

Context: To assess students’ perception of a virtual learning activity developed for remote Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) during the peak coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) outbreak in New York City. Description course: Due to pandemic, many clinical APPEs were converted elective experiences final 5-week rotation block (from 1 April 6 May 2020). A small group faculty and piloted (APPE grand rounds) enhance this setting. Students assigned participating tasked develop 60 90-minute presentations scheduled two three times weekly large synchronous e-learning across various simultaneous rotations. Evaluation: questionnaire consisting nine items utilising 5-point Likert scale was administered student format, presentation skills, overall satisfaction with experience.
